The Advisory Board
Wendy Davis, Executive Director, Postpartum Support International (PSI)
Wendy is PSI’s Executive Director. In collaboration with PSI volunteers, Office Administrator and the Board of Directors, she is responsible for developing and implementing sustainable services towards fulfillment of the PSI mission, vision and purpose. She coordinates the PSI volunteers, with the help of the Volunteer Services Committee: recruiting, guiding their training, developing bilingual services, creating volunteer policies and procedures, and nurturing communication between board, volunteers, and staff. She serves as a liaison with other groups and organizations, and works on PSI outreach projects to strengthen our support, education, and advocacy network.
Since 1987 Wendy has had a private counseling practice with a specialty in depression, anxiety, and creative process and performance. In 1994, she added a special focus in perinatal mood disorders after recovering from postpartum depression and anxiety, and since then has provided counseling and consultation, and training to professionals in PMDs and recovery. She is the founding director and a Clinical Consultant for Oregon’s Baby Blues Connection, a parent-to-parent support organization that she helped form in 1994. She works with providers, schools, communities, and hospitals to develop and provide PMD training curriculum and services. She provides consultation and training for others who are developing their own perinatal support services, and she loves to help them formulate the particular model of support that can be sustainable in their local community. She is committed to listening, learning, and improving our capacity to serve all families who need our help.
